Xiaomi Community

For a while now, I can not get my Redmi 10 to connect with my laptop using the USB cable. I have tried changing cables but no use. Other phones in my house however do easily get connected through those cables.
When connecting with a cable, the phone charges only. There used to be an option in the notification panel which allowed a selection to switch to data transfer. And now it never shows up.
What can I do? I've tried almost all the solutions available online.
